Position: Aviation Civil Engineer
Direct Recruit Agency is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Aviation Civil Engineer to join our team on a full time, permanent basis. As an Aviation Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing construction projects related to airports and other aviation facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site evaluations and feasibility studies for proposed aviation projects
- Develop and review engineering plans and designs for airport runways, taxiways, aprons, and other aviation infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including FAA and ICAO guidelines
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projects
- Monitor construction progress and provide technical support and guidance to construction teams
- Conduct quality control checks and inspections to ensure the highest level of safety and functionality for aviation facilities
- Prepare and submit project proposals, budgets, and progress reports to clients and regulatory agencies
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in aviation technology and industry standards to continuously improve project designs and processes
- Mentor and train junior engineers and technicians on aviation engineering principles and practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation engineering, with a focus on airport design and construction
- AAS or BS degree in Civil Engineering or a Civil-related field
- Strong knowledge of FAA and ICAO regulations and standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software
- Excellent project management and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
- Coursework in civil/infrastructure design, transportation engineering,
water resources, pavement engineering, construction management, and related topics
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Strong communication skills
- EIT, is a plus
- Valid driver's license and personal vehicle
- Ability to obtain Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge required, including Federal Background Check (with clear record)
