Position: Certified Medical Coder
Location: Norwood Office
Schedule: Hybrid, 1 day in office, 4 days remote after in office training.
Pay: $19-23+

Responsibilities: As a Medical Coder at Riverhills Neuroscience, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our billing processes. Your responsibilities include:
- Properly coding physician visits/encounters (CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10) based on supportive chart documentation.
- Review hospital, office, and procedure operative/progress notes and charges for compliance and accuracy.
- Performing charge entry/data entry into a computerized billing management system.
- Researching and obtaining necessary documentation/information from provider/office to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely coding and charge entry.
- Assisting with research for denied claims & appeals; medical coverage policy/medical necessity.
- All other duties as assigned.
Background and Experience - Certified Coding (CPC) experience required. Experience in physician, specialty, surgical, hospital or pain management setting preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years EHR/EMR (preferably Greenway and/or Epic) and Practice Management experience in a healthcare setting.
- Current & active Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification accredited by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) is required. If currently not CPC certified in ICD10, ICD-10 certification required within 3 months of hire.
- Proficient understanding and knowledge of the CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.
- Detailed knowledge of medical & anatomical terminology.
- Detailed knowledge of HIPAA confidentiality & privacy regulations.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
