Description Job Summary: The Compliance Consultant will provide expertise and direction to the organization, clients, and business partners, in the area of Employee Benefits information and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities: - Communicate regularly with producers, benefits department, clients, prospects and business partners regarding health care reform and other legislative, regulatory, and legal issues in the employee benefits arena
- Participate in capabilities presentations and partner with producers on new business opportunities
- Provide guidance and counseling as needed to clients with specific questions or concerns regarding ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and other employee benefit-related legislation
- Write articles and opinions regarding changes in the health care area for dissemination to clients both through direct email and in our monthly newsletter
- Act as internal resource to interpret benefits information for the organization
- Collaborate with legal counsel as needed to gain a legal opinion and ensure we provide the most comprehensive and clear benefits information to all parties
- Provide tools, training, and assistance for Summary Plan Description and plan document reviews to the employee benefits team
- Lead regular webinars to educate employees and clients regarding health care reform and other pertinent information
- Provide expertise through public speaking at seminars and other venues
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree is required
- 5 to 7 years Employee Benefits experience is required
- Health Care legal experience is required; J.D. preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to efficiently handle multiple, simultaneous, and complex tasks and projects
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
