Job Overview The Electrical Estimator is responsible for determining the approximate costs of various electrical installations for construction and industrial projects. The Electrical Estimator's responsibilities include determining how long each job will last, researching market prices for project materials and equipment, and communicating with clients to determine the scope of each project. An Electrical Estimator should be adept at reading building plans and demonstrating outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. This individual has a leadership role within the organization and has to represent the core values of AEC Responsibilities And DutiesPrepare detailed cost estimates for electrical construction projects, reviewing plans, specifications, and requirements.
Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for electrical systems, ensuring accuracy and cost efficiency.
Work with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes and assess pricing.
Update and maintain estimating databases, ensuring all cost data is current and accurate.
Coordinate with project managers to ensure estimates align with project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
Analyze and review estimates from subcontractors and vendors to ensure they meet the project's defined scope.
Preparing bid packages and tenders for submission to clients.
Support the project team with budgeting during the construction phase.
Ensure that estimates comply with industry standards and project specifications.
Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to enhance the bidding process.
Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction processes, and estimating practices.
Proficiency in estimating software and other relevant tools (e.g., Conest).
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
