Position Summary
The Integrated Education and Training (IET) Teacher supports students (16+ years) in gaining the skills needed to enter a career pathway that leads to in demand living wage jobs.The IET Teacher supports student learning in IET programs which combine adult basic skills education and job skills training to offer adult learners a streamlined opportunity to transition from adult basic education classes to employment and/or postsecondary educational opportunities.The IET Teacher will focus on developing curriculum and delivering instruction for at risk populations in healthcare, skilled trades, math bootcamps, and early childhood education pathways.This position will work closely with UNM Los Alamos Academic Affairs, Community Education, and Career Center personnel to effectively implement IET models for our campus.The IET Teacher is skilled in working with diverse populations, including adults from different socioeconomic backgrounds, races and ethnicities.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include: - Teaches basic reading, writing, math, and workforcetraining skills in the context of career training through instruction in IET classes and hours,if applicable.
- Prepares appropriate documentation and reports on programs and student progress.
- Liaise between adult education students, the content teacher, andas needed with Academic Affairs, Career Center, and e Academic SupportCenter personnel.
- Plans, develops, and oversees community outreach activities fortargeted student populations.Promotes programs and recruits studentsthrough networking with local school and community groups.
- Contributes to UNM Los Alamos by engaging in activities thatsupport, stimulate, and sustain the institution and the community through relevant relationship building.
- Engages in active and productive collaboration with colleaguesthrough department, school, and college-wide initiatives such as attendingdepartment meetings, college assemblies, professional development, andorientation activities, etc.
- Enters student data such as goal progress, HSE grades, tutoring, and advisinghours into LACES database.
- Engages in professional development activities to incorporate bestpractices for instruction.
- May assist with grant and/or proposal writing as appropriate to the objectives and funding nature of the program; may participate in other fundraising activities.

Conditions of Employment
- May require valid NM State teaching license in secondary education in a specific area of expertise as appropriate.
- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree;at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
