Job Description
Restaurant Depot, a national wholesale restaurant supplier is seeking an experienced Meat Specialist/Manager for our Clackamas, OR location. Candidate should have minimum of 3+ years experience in a retail or big box environment and knowledgeable in Fresh meats, including different cuts, grades, and varieties, merchandising, rotation, sales forecasting, and ordering of product. HACCP knowledge a big plus. We are a unique wholesale operation and not open to the general public. Excellent Customer Service skills are essential, as you will be interacting with business customers throughout the day. Must be able move/lift 50 lb cases and also be able to work in a refrigerated environment (35-40 degrees) throughout the day. Flexible schedule required as we are open 7 days. Company Description RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Operations Management:
- Supervise daily activities of the picking and loading management within a cold storage facility.
- Monitor and ensure accurate execution of processes to meet operational goals, considering the challenges of cold storage.
2. Team Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and mentor supervisors, and warehouse staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and coaching to address performance issues and ensure professional growth.
3. Performance Analysis:
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and evaluate the distribution center's productivity and efficiency in a cold storage context.
- Identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, and develop action plans accordingly.
4. Inventory Management:
- Collaborate with the Logistics team to manage inventory levels, monitor stock movement, and reduce carrying costs, taking into account the challenges of cold storage.
5. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, especially within the unique cold storage environment.
- Promote a safe working environment by enforcing proper safety protocols and conducting regular safety training.
6. Process Improvement:
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and customer service within a cold storage context.
- Implement best practices, technology solutions, and automation to drive process improvements.
