Bone and Joint has one of the most comprehensive teams of orthopedic, pain management, podiatric, physical and occupational therapy experts in Northcentral Wisconsin. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PATIENT ADVOCATE
Bone & Joint's Patient Advocate team wear many hats and has several resources to be able to help our patients, providers, and staff. This team helps patients who may need assistance with cash pricing for non-covered services, helping patients understand certain benefits such as, Medicare coverage, veteran benefits, and explaining copays and coinsurance to patients. This team advocates for patients who received poor care at a medical facility. We help patients find resources and services that can assistance with transportation, Meals, heat bills, and even housing, and so much more! Our patient Advocates work very close with our Veteran patients, making sure we have authorizations on file for all services performed or ordered by Bone & Joint. You will complete a variety of tasks each day in a very fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PATIENT ADVOCATE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Patience, kindness and the ability to work with people at all levels (internal and external) combined with compassion for our Patients.
  • Ability to work in conjunction with staff in a supportive way to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Possess strong customer service skills/interpersonal interactions; ability to handle difficult and angry people constructively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, persuasion, relationship building, resolving conflict and integrity.
WORK SCHEDULE
Workdays of a Patient Advocate are Monday through Friday between 6:30am - 5pm (start times vary based on schedule and business needs).
