Job Description

Gpac is seeking a highly motivated individual for our client company's growing team as Plant Manager. The Plant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day activities in the facility while promoting continuous improvement through strong leadership. This role would be based in Upstate New York and provides relocation assistance for those not in a commutable area.

Job Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, direct and run day-to-day operations.
• Achieve goals set for the production facility.
• Lead the facility in establishing and meeting continue improvement objections
• Develop processes to increase productivity and enhance performance.
• Delegate production assignments to appropriate teams and personnel
• Promote all safety/quality policies and procedures while supporting their continuous improvement efforts.
• Foster a well-trained and motivated team by encouraging and supporting the development of all plant employees
• Provide operational and employee leadership to the facility
• Assist executive management with budgeting, production statistics, cost analysis, justification of capital expenditures and asset management.
• Reporting of plant KPI’s
• Maintain 24 hour/day on call availability to deal with potential problems/issues.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree Business or related field.
• 15-20 plus years’ experience of leadership role within planning or supervision in a food manufacturing facility (pet food manufacturing experience highly desired) 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and abilities
• Working knowledge of production equipment
• Proactive problem-solving skills
• Quality System background or foundational knowledge.
• Experience with ERP, WMS and batching software.
