What You’ll Work On:

As a Surveyor at Steelcon, you’ll apply your skills with engineering instruments and 3D scanning to calculate land boundaries, create maps, and report on survey results for the projects assigned to you. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Field Surveying : Conduct precise land surveys using robotic total stations and Trimble 3D scanning technology to collect and measure data for Steelcon’s projects.
  • Survey Documentation : Produce detailed maps, reports, and records from your surveys, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaboration with Teams : Work closely with engineering, project management, and construction teams to deliver timely and accurate survey data that supports project planning and execution.
  • Data Analysis : Analyze survey data and provide actionable insights to ensure project accuracy and quality.
  • Safety Compliance : Follow all safety processes and policies, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience : Previous experience as a Surveyor or in a similar role, with a strong working knowledge of surveying equipment and survey data analysis.
  • Education : Post-secondary degree or diploma in construction engineering or a related field. Registration with the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors (ACLS) is an asset.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency with robotic total stations, Trimble 3D scanning, and CAD and other relevant surveying software. Knowledge of the limitations and use of standard surveying equipment.
  • Mathematical Aptitude : Strong skills in math and problem-solving to accurately analyze data and measurements.
  • Attention to Detail : High level of attention to detail and the ability to work independently on multiple projects while ensuring accuracy.
  • Organizational & Leadership Skills : Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively. Leadership experience is a plus.
  • Physical Ability : Ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Safety-Conscious : Must be safety-conscious and adhere to all safety processes and policies in the field.
